The ESH committee is responsible for coordinating the activities and setting the goals of the association in these areas. The committee, together with specific working groups are active directly on technical cooperative projects and regulatory issues of value to members. The ESIA has working groups dealing with Chemical Management and Reach preparation, Energy savings, PFC, Health & Safety, Quantitative targets and EU legislation. The current chairperson of the ESIA ESH committee is Mr Eric-Paul Schat of NXP Semiconductors (founded by Philips).
